Wyoming’s Path of the Pronghorn hosts the largest pronghorn herd in the world, the Sublette pronghorn herd.  While the Path of the Pronghorn is the nation’s first, federally-designated wildlife migration corridor, protection is not biologically complete.  In the corridor’s southern half that leads pronghorn from Grand Teton National Park to Crucial Winter Range in the Upper Green River Basin, oil and gas development and habitat degradation and fragmentation threaten to constrict or even eliminate migration.  The survival of tens of thousands of pronghorn is at stake.  The State of Wyoming has approved a Migration Corridor Protection plan that fails to recognize the Path of the Pronghorn, diminishes the role of professional wildlife biologists and sound science, and politicizes wildlife management in the State of Wyoming.
